A new reason I like electric
« on: August 22, 2014, 09:57:56 PM »
I found another reason to like electric. With IC, there's only so much you can do to lighten the nose if a plane is nose heavy. Lighter spinner, maybe go to a plastic tank, but that's near the end. My new plane was nose heavy. I built a new battery carriage (lost 3/4oz - OK, the old one was overbuilt) and went to a lighter battery (a 25C versus a 35C battery) and lost 1.75 ounces. so, I've lost 2.5oz from the nose. That should do it.

Another good reason I'm thinking of, the airport is about to seal our circle and we will have to keep the fuel off the ground.

Yea, that will last for a bit. But I imagine that after 6 months or so and full size planes have peed all over it that this will go away.
