C/L at the Sanford, Maine Jet rally
« on: August 19, 2014, 08:48:48 AM »

The Maine Jet Rally (aka The Horizon Hobby Air Meet) will be held again this year on Sept 4,5,6 and7 at the the Sanford Maine Regional Airport . Two control line circles will be part of the venue to provide for open flying and a Sanctioned GX Combat contest on Saturday, the 6th. RC jets, helicopters, and model rockets will be flying and the RC cars will be racing on and off road during the show. The car track will be hosting a nationals level race.

We'll be flying C/L demos all during the event and will have a fleet of planes for C/L pilots who would like to put up a few flights. Registration if you come with your own gear and plan to spend the day flying is $15. Admission is $10 per adult.

The full scale airshow on Sat and Sun will feature National champion Matt Chapman flying his Pitts and Don Marcott with his Ultimate. Other full scale displays are in the works. Horizon Hobby is bringing in the 'big guns' of 1/4 scale and helicopter aerobatics.

A 1/4 scale RC model and the full scale Pitts are scheduled to fly aerobatics in formation together. A nightime show will feature illuminated planes and helicopters doing aerobatics.

Lots going on, check the website: www.mainejetrally.org

Matt Chapman has been sponsored by Embry Riddle flying a CAP 580. Has he changed to a Pitts?

        My mistake!

You're correct, Matt chapman will be flying a CAP 580 and Dan Marcott will be flying his Ultimate 10-200.
