Nut-Hut and Model Work/Storage Shed and Then Some
« on: August 12, 2014, 09:19:36 PM »
Paul Taylor has been asking to see my Nut-Hut so I did a wee tour.
This is where I work on my planes...mainly repairing.....and a bunch of other stuff.
Having this Nut-Hut keeps my marriage of 28 years intact!

Shug,
You are amazing! I hope that you get to the Dallas area in the near future.  Bobby Allison comes to our club meeting when he is in town, so I guess we could admit you too!

I can't help but admire what you do. Thanks for sharing all this with us and even lifting our spirits.

Shug,
Bobby was the first NASCAR driver to fly himself to race tracks.
No, He does not fly models, but he can talk airplanes with the best uf us.

He is a very close friend of Don & Flora Hutchinson and stay with them whenever he come to the Texas Motor Speedway. He has been to many of our meetings and our after meeting socializing at a Mexican restaurant.

When are you coming to Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

Looks like some cool 'vintage' toys on the shelves in the Nut-Hut Shug (Matchbox, Aurora slot cars, etc.).  Are those the toys from your youth (as in the actual toys you played with), or the toys of your youth, replacements found in various stores, garage sales, eBay, etc.?

When I think of all the cool stuff that I played with as a child (1/32 slot cars, Hot Wheels sets, Schwinn Stingray...), that was later tossed, I get awfully misty...

Pretty fair sized Fair....pun intended.
Yessir....I have a bookng agent that does all that.

I have nothing planned down that way at this time. Though I will be in McAllen, TX in February for the Snowbird Extravaganza for a couple of days. All work....no play on that trip.

Most of that stuff are re-buys I found. I do have all my original Major Matt Mason stuff. Well played with though. I had the 1/32 too. The good ol' days for sure.

Hey Shug,
Nut Hut looks like great fun.  Entirely too well organized for a work shop however.  You know what they say "a clean orderly shop is a sign of a very sick mind!"  y1 .

You are indeed a very talented guy.  With hand eye coordination like that you could be a great stunt flier with some work!

Seeing you on the Unicycle has inspired me to dig mine out.  Maybe for the next contest.  Haven't ridden it since the very old days of Motorcycle racing.  They used to be very common in the pits!  Not sure my old hips will tolerate it now...

Keep on Keep'n on.  Hope to meet you someday!  Maybe at VSC?

Airplanes, out-doors, blue-grass, and THE Nut-hut!!!  You are my hero Shug!  I have 2 questions for you:
1.  Is that a Gibson mandolin?
2.  How much coffee do you drink per day?

God bless,
Steve

Sometimes I sit and stare...then get busy with something.
This week is show practice, fix show props and such, re-touch Ares, make a plane stand, get out to fly (tomorrow eve I hope...been 10 days) start Minnesota State Fair on Thursday for 12 days. Then get out to fly and practice up for Huntersville contest.

Shug,
Maybe the fairgrounds will be large enough to add the Unicycle/BiSlob act!  With the Slob you only need half a circle for the whole flight. Now that would be different.
