Is there a reason for the purple gloves specifically

I have obtained Nitrile gloves from the auto paint supply store,, Harbor freight,, and medical supply,,

I also get the blue gloves at Walmart.  They're also available at Lowe's and Home Depot in our little town.

 I've got some of the blue ones, but from what I have read, the purple ones last longer, and seem to be more restistant to tearing.

 my wife buys the purple ones all the time at walgreens or CVS. then i steal a few... ::)
