Anyone know the plan number for Bill Werwage's Juniper? I checked FM and couldn't find them.

Juniper is a .32 size Junar.

I scaled the Junar three years ago but never made the plane available. I was going to use a Rusler 40 in it. I just took the Junar plans to the copy shop and down sized them to about 560+sq". It came out correct in every way. Airfoil and moments worked out well with out changing them for the smaller size. I will get them out tomorrow and take a picture of them. I do not remember the ratio I used.I called it the "Junar 40"

The Juniper was designed by Bob Hazle. It was indeed essentially a scaled down Junar.

Thank you very much

I'm going to electrify mine. The reason I want one is the thin airfoil. It's so windy here of late and my other planes don't handle the wind as well as a thin airfoil would.

I jusy got an E-mail from FM stating they have no plans by Bob Hazle or Juniper, am I losing it? Could of sworn it was published in FM.

I'm fairly certain that it was never published. I know that while I was the Editor at Flying Models it was never submitted.

I have no record of any design being published called Juniper, by Bill Werwage or by anyone else. My listgings are "fairly complete" except for some stuff published in the foreign magazines.

I'm pretty sure that he passed on some years ago. He is listed in my '09 PAMPA Directory, Fairfield, CA, SF Bay area. Some of the California guys would know for sure if I'm correct.

I tried search here and got nothin', but maybe on SSW forum? No luck there either, but I don't seem to have great results with either forum's search functions. If I'm wrong, he won't be in the members list on the PAMPA site, and he's not.

The rumors of his passing are greatly exaggerated... Bob flew this year at VSC with his gorgeous Bill Werwage-designed Vulcan...

Bob's wife, Mary Gebhart did pass on a few years ago. Great lady, and Bob was so lost without her. $:-\$

I never heard of the Juniper but here is the scale down Junar I did a few years ago. 51" wing span ,nm 9", TM14.5" It comes out around 560 SQ"
Most of the full size Junar's that I have seen were like a kite in the wind,maybe to light.

Back in the 90's the .32's were gaining popularity and this plane was designed for it. As Bob Hunt stated above it was essentialy a scaled down Junar. It has a relatively thin aifoil which is why I'm interested in it, It's my hope it'll cut through the wind better than the planes I have. Plans were available but I can't remember from where.
