You're right Mark, I'm not too into it, but it was quite a "shock" to learn of the project. :##

Being mostly a sportbike guy over the years I do have to say the thing at least looks pretty cool. y1

Unless they come up with one that will go more than 50 miles on a charge, it's not going to sell well.

and Mark, nope. I have a whole 'nother idea.  (PE**)

Well its in clear,, 12 hours from first color to last coat of clear,, masking is all clean,, no blow outs,,
clear went on pretty decent,, I will likely do some cutting and polishing,, though likely minimal,,
I have 5 days to get it rigged and test flown if I want to go to the Raider Roundup,,hmm might be close,,
anyhow,, here it is,,

DBC base coat colors,,
2042 clear ( mixed 4 - 1 - 1.75 instead of 4-1-1)
Color sprayed with my Iwata detail gun
Clear with my Sata minijet,,
Power will be Eflight 32,, Castle ESC and Hubin timer,,

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Mark,

WOW! You have been busy.

Really nice scheme and the color combination is great.

Looks as smooth as silk.

Can't wait to see photos of the model when it is completed.

Thanks for posting that info on materials, auto paint is great stuff.

Outstanding!

It's largely an Impact profile with a few fillips. I really like it. Mark does great work, as always. I look forward to seeing it this weekend at the roundup. I was going to pull out my Ring to fly in profile, but may have to reconsider.

.
If I understand yoru question,, its where the ground adjustable rudder affixes,, making a "scale" rudder that goes top to bottom is a LOT of area,, and would make minute adjustments challanging,,

Got it, the profile outline will appear "complete" once the lower rudder is affixed.

Paint looks awesome Mark, but it's really gonna stand out over the German countryside. VD~ :##

Mark,

I'll be there Saturday trying to get my own tub trimmed. I'd be glad to help you get yours in shape. I'm going to try to be there early on Saturday to get a flight or two in before the carrier guys show up. Should be fun. Hope to see you.

how early,, I see OT doesnt start till 10,, since this is my profile,, it would be advantagous to actually get some early flights in,, in faint hopes of getting it close enough to fly profile with later in the afternoon,, otherwise I am just flying classic and Adv,,with the Avenger,,

Mark,

You have a character line on both sides of the fuselage. I'm thinking hidden pushrod, but I'm probably wrong.

Is that part of the design? Purpose?

If it's just looks, I can understand that.

The model looks really nice.

Its a color line,, my feeling is to break up the massive visual side area,, and it actually is a continuation of the checkerboard from the wings,, one of the advantages of a profile is having everything out in the breeze so you can adjust and tweak easier,, since this is my testbed/practice airplane,, I plan on doing lots of trim experiments,, having a hidden pushrod would defeat the purpose,,

Its Omni MP181, I will see how it sands,, but I dont think it has very good build properties,, I couldnt find any DZ3 and I had this,, man it was settleed out, it took a LONG while to get it recombined again,, It sprays about like the NAPA primer Sparky uses,, unlike DZ3 which has much more body,,

I use an Iwata airbrush,, apply the big areas of color with an Iwata detail gun ( HVLP) and spray my clear with a SATA Minijet,,
I cant recall the model numbers off the top of myhead,,
