What's the latest with CLC?
« on: November 15, 2013, 09:37:06 PM »

I haven't heard any new news about Control Line Central for awhile. Does anyone know the current status of any of their services?

Jim has closed up the shop and moved everything to storage at his house. I'm not sure of his future plans but for now the shop is closed. I'm pretty sure if you get a hold of him he is still doing some business out of his house. We really miss the shop here in Albuquerque.

Probably the city giving him problems with the license or the landlords wanting too much for rent.   One shop that tried to make it here in the KC area closed up because landlords wanting too much rent when they seen how well he was doing.

Does Jim have a mailing address and phone number we can get contact with him?

Yes, I know Jim ran the shop because he enjoyed it, I don't think he was making a huge amount of money doing it, just doing it because he was providing a service to the CL community. I think I heard that the rent was getting higher also. To bad the shop's gone. We will definitely miss it. I'm thinking he's going to do a limited business out of his home still, selling the Tom Morris products and lines and what not. I'm not sure how to get in touch with him, maybe try through SH, I'm sure he still gets on here. We had a club meeting this Saturday that he would have attended, unfortunately I could not attend.

Jim still has some family issues he is having to deal with. I'm sure that when he is ready to resume business he will let us know. Hi Jim, I missed the meeting Saturday also. b1 8)

I just got an e-mail from Jim regarding the Warbird profile plans I drew up. He says "If anybody wants a plan, e-mail him at the CLC address and he will take care of it.

Is there a good phone number to try reaching them? Today I tried the number that I used to use and it's been disconnected. ???

Hello? ???

I'm guessing that would be a "no".

I do have his cell phone # but I don't think it would be appropriate to give it out. I'm pretty sure that his e-mail is still up and running. You could go through the NMCCLA club website also as he is the president of our local club.

It's looking that way, but I'm just trying to make a connection. I've done business with Jim and Emily in the past, and I was always more than satisfied. I'm simply trying to do some more. Plus, the work I'm currently looking for I'm sure they would still have on file from a previous custom job the was done for me.

Whatever the reason(s), and whether there is any activity or not anymore on their end, is all fine. Either way though, the respectful thing to do would be for us to see a formal post by them letting us know their current status and/or future plans. If they're done with the business that's fine, just please let us know. It would literally only take a minute...

I too would like to know their status.  They were one great family to me , especially his Mother.   Was one of the high light of VSC each year to see them.  By the way, his wife baby sat with my demented poodle(Sandy) while I was busy keeping the judges alert.

I sent Jim a P.M. through this forum in June, inquiring about the availability of a couple of Don Hutchinson's war bird plans. Jim replied in July. I then ordered and received the plans in August.
