Who's Saito .40 carb mod?
« on: May 21, 2012, 12:34:28 AM »
I picked up this new Saito .40 in the Classifieds a while back. Can anyone tell me whose carb mod this is? It's got a plastic insert in place of the R/C throttle barrel with a nylon bolt threaded into it...
Narrowly averting disaster since 1964!

By the sound of it, it is probably a Bob Reeves recommended modification. A friend has done a Saito 56 like it and is well pleased!

Andrew.

Yep, looks identical to what I do except I have always used aluminum to make the new barrel. Just wasn't sure how well delrin or any plastic would hold the threads and be stable enough to insure a consistant fit. Probably will work fine but wasn't willing to take the chance so decided on aluminum.
