A sincere thank you
«
on:
May 01, 2012, 09:44:41 AM »
I’ve been thinking hard about how to word this letter.
Your wishes, prayers, thoughts, and
Generosity, is overwhelming, and is helping a lot.
THANK YOU ALL.
I thought I had worked out a safe install for the new antenna.
It wasn’t as it turned out, and the antenna got close enough to 7800-volt line
That it arced over.
I never lost consciousness. I never want to go through anything like that again.
After the power stopped buzzing, the voltage released it’s grip, and I fell from the roof I had been kneeling on to the concrete patio. My muscles were contracted so tightly, and since I landed on my right side, fortunately, nothing was broken in the fall.
There was a remarkable series of events, that actually saved my life, and within ½ hour, I was in the best burn-trauma center in the country.
I’ve been here over a month now, I’ve had 3 operations, and I’m going in for another in a few hours. This, one is to help repair the damage to my right kneecap where most of the electricity exited. Since I was kneeling, my feet where spared, and currently, I’m actually walking pretty well at this time.
There will be a few more surgeries, and months of P.T., but I have high hopes for about 90% use of my hands, and the return of feeling to my fingers.
I ask those of you who pray, for your continued thoughts, as you converse with God. It works, I know it.
For all of you my most sincere, and heartfelt thak you for the strength and love you share with me.
Bless you all, you who share this same passion, are the best. Blessings and thanks.

John, I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to hear from you directly,, Gordon has been wonderfull about keeping us updated as much as possible,,
I plan on seeing you again next year, either in Tuscon, or Eugene,,, ( if not sooner)
now that said,, all future antenna erecting WILL be done by professionals Please,,
you are to good of friend to have something unforeseen cost us your involvement,, and I for one would miss your twisted humor,,
be well my friend, be well

Hi John,
Dear friend, I'm so happy to be reading your letter. I went back and reread your January 2012 Control Line World article "What a Ride It's Been.." and enjoyed it all again.
You've got a whole bunch of friends who think the world of you, I'm certainly one.
Take care of yourself and get well.
God bless,
L.

John,
We've never met but I've read your stuff here over the years. What a remarkable story, God was obviously with you throughout and is with you now. My prayer of both thanks and healing are with you and I hope maybe to meet you someday.

John-
It's SO good to hear from you on the Board. Ypo've been one of the most supportive, kind, and and creative people here in the CL community and certainly one of the most advnturous; so I know you'll be forging ahead. But like the others, I've been extremely worried about you and have been sending you my best thoughts and prayers. You'll continue in my thoughts too!

Hey Buddy,
Ya' had me worried there for a while. I don't have so many friends that I can afford to lose one. Sounds like you've come through the worst of it with flying colors. Hang in there and I know you'll make a complete recovery...none of this 90% stuff. Trust in God and the doctors and you'll make it to VSC next year.
Everyone on the forum and a lot of others that I've talked to are pulling for you and praying for you.
I can't imagine why everyone likes you so much but for some strange reason they do...personally, I think you're a hell of a fine gentleman and a brave soul...
Just don't ever do anything like this again!!!! Ya hear!
Love Ya,

Big John, I hope you don't mind if I call you that. You are big in my heart from the day you autographed the kit I got from Ken Smith after Gordy autographed it. I think most has been stated already. Now take care of yourself and the LORD willing, will see you again.
