Can anyone post pictures of Steve Buso planes?
« on: November 18, 2010, 03:58:39 PM »

I have only seen a few of Steve's planes.
Anyone have the Lightwave or Soundwave (if these are even names of his planes) or some of the more less-common Buso planes they can post pictures of?

Thanks!
Aaron

I remember that one well!

I also remember the Vegas I believe was the one that was published in Stunt News.
Also Carlos Serra flew a Jaguar to win Advanced at the 1993 nats, also a good looking plane.

Yes I do - I lost out to Steve for Rookie of the Year in 93 on appearance points...

Hey Aaron here are a couple of photos of a Steve Buso design PatterMaster done for Mike Rogers. Steve designed the plane and the paint scheme. I will find some other Buso designs. His model is also the Pampa logo. Buso Jaguar at 2010 Nats

Jose,
I always loved the looks of that PM, I took a good few pictures of it at the 1993 Nationals.
Thanks for those, maybe when I am at Dad's this weekend I will bring home that book and scan some stuff!

Mike Roger's Patternmaster is the only Patternmaster or derivative that I thought flew the way it was supposed to - mostly because the trim appeared to be right on. Even Baron's in 96 did some funnies from time to time.

I remember the ZAP Machine very well.  At the '93 NATS, in the motel parking lot, Steve and I joked about having Bounty do a TV commercial about us stunt fliers using their paper towels to clean and buff our planes! LOL!!

John Thompson (Flying Lines webmaster) had a Buso "Lightwave".  It resembles a Vector 40, tho I'd guess the Vector has a thicker wing, and maybe less area. I looked in my pictures and also through the Flying Lines site, but couldn't find a picture of JT's rendition.    :-[ Steve

Years ago I saw a picture of a pretty wild looking Buso design called "Psyclone".

In the linked PDF (Nats News July 16, 2010) Allen Brickhaus identifies it as Paul Winter and his Jaguar...

I have a "new" model ready to be assembled based on a Steve Buso fuselage sketch that Jose sent me years ago.  Never published nor named.  Basic airframe is a reduced Patternmaster, and a sorta "P-40Q" look to it.  Gonna name it the "Shock Wave" (Robby Hunt suggestion! LOL!!)   it is a "Jurassic Stunt" airplane! LL~ LL~ LL~

Hopefully it will be trimmed and ready to go this Spring!  (still in need of a compressor to paint with! LOL!!)

I am petty sure that Steve had a "Shock Wave". Or, maybe Steve and I talked about that name because had a few airplanes that were ****Wave.

I talked with Paul at the Nats and remember him saying it was a Strega.  There was a Jaguar present, very pretty plane.

Here is my old Cascade 545, a Buso design (as I recall). I also had the plans for a larger version of the Cascade.

HI Tom,

We dug through all the old pictures, and the stuff Steve had sent me, along with some stuff Jose sent me, and couldn't find one named "Shock Wave", but it fits right in to the Lite Wave, etc..  It is just a side view drawing Steve did, with no name on the paper.  The drawing did have a note pertaining to a .51 size Patternmaster.

Thanks!
Bill

Thanks, Bruno.

Now, is that a "Buso design", or Kim's "moniker" for the obvious "Electric" connection?  ;D

Thanks, again.  Still gonna name mine "Shock Wave"! LOL!!

Anyone have the Lightwave or Soundwave (if these are even names of his planes) or some of the more less-common Buso planes they can post pictures of?

Thanks!

Hi Aaron

I have most of Steve's plans  for sale here, but not all of them, he has plans for  40 size up to 75 size, conventional and  pipe ships
They are listed on my site   www.Aeroproduct.net

Regards
Randy
