Hi Mark,

Yes, I have a few of the Brett Buck style bellcranks in stock. You can view or order them here: http://www.clcentral.com/proddetail.asp?prod=BCA%2DBB. I guess when I ran out a while back I listed them as out of stock and forgot to change it when I got them in. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Thanks,

Do the line/clip holder mounts slide in and out to allow for line length adjustments?

Hi Wayne,

Yes they slide in and out. I am not sure of the amout of adjustment available but i will measure it and let you know. I think there is at least 1/2" of adjustment but it might be more.

Neal,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Computer problems that are now fixed have really messed me up here.

Any way, I am not sure what you are asking. I do not see why this would not be legal but then like I said I am not sure why you are asking this. Can you give me more info?

What I hate is inflation! LOL!!   I remember when Tom first introduced handle kits and they were like 5 for $25! LOL!!!!!

After the Missus' surgery, I will get up with you.

I do believe at the Nat's the wire has to go through the handle, (so we can get zapped if a storm is on its way).I have a Russian handle with Nylon string and its a great handle light and easy to adjust. There is a thread about Russian equipment at the Nat's on this site. Grin PS I ordered 2 of this stile handles

I'll step in and give Jim a little help here he may not have followed the equipment thread you referenced. It is as legal as the other Tom Morris handles, Fancher Handles, Bar/Cable handles and about 80% of all handles that are being used today. There has not been any rule changes, just an interpretation that wasn't thought out very clearly. Call me an optimist but I think common sense will prevail and haven't gone back to my "Hot Rock" handle quite yet.

Neal, Pete, nad Jim (and any others! LOL!!)

An official ruling IS (still) pending from the AMA on the "legality" of handles that can be used in AMA competition, and under AMA Insurance..  Brenda has not issued a formal statement on the "rules" from an AMA standpoint (as of 11:00am EST 9 Jan 2011), so I warn against making assumptions or speculating.  We could all be correct, or 100% dead wrong.  Until the AMA through Brenda Schuette makes their ruling public, there is no definitive answer.

Not a reason to "NOT BUY" these handles, though, as I will! Grin

I thought I would let everyone know a couple of thing about the Tom Morris handles I am selling.

I had posted a picture of the new handle. If you look closely at the photo of it you will notice it has only one bolt in it. Due to the metal slipping during certain conditions while flying we have started to install two bolts for extra security and this has solved the problem. I think we have notified everyone that purchased the handle with the one bolt so they can return the hankde for us to the other bolt or they can install the other bolt themselves. All new handles will be sold with the two bolts already installed.

Also, the old hardpoint handles Tom has sold for many years will be discontinued as soon as the current stock is gone. These are the ones with the eyebolts in them for the lines to connect to.

Below is a photo of the new style handle and the old style handle being discontinued.

Thanks for your patience on this matter,

Jim Snelson

I have not seen the thread you refer to. I have been off line for a while now with computer problems that I just finished fixing last night. Basically a new computer installed since the old one died.

Anyway, from what I see here, there is apparently a proposal to change the handle rules. If so, all I can say is that at the CURRENT TIME the Tom Morris handles I sell are legal. I am not sure what the proposal has to do with and will not comment on it. I will say this, I know Tom and I have sold many of his handles and to our knowledge have never had one fail. I think the last time I asked Tom how many of his handles had been sold he told me over 2000 and that was a while back.

I agree Bill, inflation stinks. The old style handles we sold 5 for $25 is still available at this time, but they are now $12.00 each and we no longer offer the the buy 5 discount. Still a bargain looking at what other handles cost though.

Hi Jim,

The whole "handle rule problem" might not ever really BE a problem.  And it oddly enough had nothing to do with an actual failure!  Everything right now that has been in use is "legal".  Hopefully that will not change.  The whole "mess" has been over the Yatsenko handles that use a cloth line for the control line to attach to.  They have been in use "World Wide", but they were questioned at the NATS, so................................  anyway, the AMA will make a ruling and there's not much to discuss until then.

Thanks for making all of Tom's stuff available, it's all I use now.  Of course I will have to get one of those new hard point handles!

Jim I just received my Tom Morris Hard Point Handles, there is a problem with the placement of the rear bolt. It has to be moved 1/4 inch forward to get 5/16 inch movement. If the 2 bolts were moved 1/8 inch forward with bolts 3/8 on center there would be a little Moore movement.I personally hate to use few line clips to adjust my handle. I also try to make my lines exactly the same length and sometimes that's not easy. That's my 2 cents . Thanks for the quick delivery and service. Smiley Grin

Cool handle especially for an insulated line setup. LESS CHANCE OF A LINE SHORT! Might want to point this out in your description.

For what it's worth, all those I know of who use the "TED Handle" set the overhang at minimum and adjust for neutral with line clips of varying lengths. Best plan is to use stock Sullivan or Brodak "paperclip" type clips on the airplane end, and just one oddball clip at the handle end. Same principle will apply to this new Tom Morris handle!

If your plane turns easier in one direction, adjust the elevator pushrod length until it doesn't. Also best to have a handle dedicated to each plane. Having to continually struggle to find neutral is a good way to lose a plane.  y1 Steve

Are you going to make a biased version of this handle?  Also do you have the hardware for the old style TM hardpoint handle?  I would like to convert the TM handles that I have to the old style hardpoint type.  Looks like it would be a bolt on conversion.

Guess this may not belong here, but here goes.   I bought the handle at VSC this year and it was a month or two before I got around to finishing it.   First flights on the new plane the handle felt great with the thicker grip.   Anyway it is dedicated to one plane now as last Sunday I finally moved the clips closer together by four holes top and bottom.   I am in love with the way the International Stunt Winner now flies.   Just need more practice and maybe and engine change.   Of course the old Fox is probably not allthe way broke in.  Thanks to you and Tom for a great handle.
