It looks  like what is refered to as the 62 Ares.  But I am probably wrong.  D>K  I'll bet you know and are just baiting us.  LL~

well it had a  chainsaw FOX on it that smelled like a fuel dragster when running and a airfoiled muffler  ;D

I have heard that ol' Billy was not above tipping the nitro bottle up to 25% at times. Makes me wonder how many Fox engines he went through in a season. D>K

In his USA-1 article he said he had K&B 45s running on as much as 45% Nitro fuel.  Wouldn't want that raw gas getting on the plane.

I took the photo in Lexington KY and am pretty sure it was 75. Cant' remember much about the airplane other than it was beautiful.

Hi Bob

Yes it was either 1974 or1975 I was there along with Ron Farmer, The plane was the "chainsaw fox" Ares  :-).  It was hard to believe the motor hung in there, I think Bill also was running  20 to 25% nitro as it had a unique smell too when flying.

Seem to think Ron was either flying or had a Very pretty Gypsy?? Seem to remember him not being happy about it's weight. Wished my memory was better...

Yep he had his design Gypsy powered by an OS 35S, I don't remember it being overweight, but he was very very weight conscious then
