Field Trip !!!!
« on: August 15, 2008, 07:29:49 PM »
Ryan goes off to school next weekend so this is our last father son outing before he goes into the real world.  :(

We made it to Paducah Aero Modelers field this afternoon around 5 pm to find a whole flock of planes in the air and a large group of people. We found Allen to say howdy. He pointed us to an empty circle. They had 4 or 5 circles setup for practice.
Ryan and I got to put up some much needed practice flights. We made it back to our room and got checked in. We needed to change the décor in our room so we brought in our planes. I have read horror stories about planes being stolen from cars.

Chilling in Paduchah with my wingman Propbuster,
Paul  H^^

PS - More pictures and video to follow tomorrow. #^

Hope you two really enjoy yourselves.  There is a great bunch of guys/gals in that area.  Also don't say this is your last outing together as there is usually school breaks during the year.  I myself will be going to Topeka for their Topclass II Contest tomorrow.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

Have fun guys, wish I was there with you.  Someday I might try my hand at flying in a contest - who knows.

Chris,
You should have followed Mike and Dennis down... they showed up and flew. They even juged me and Ryan.
When you enter a contest you may have to fly advance class or close to it. You are such a natural. You have a few contest each year right in your back yard.
I would be your pit guy!

Yii. I love the paint scheme on Kenny's plane! It's beautiful.

Good for you guys.

Heard Bob Whitely won Profile, Classic and Old Time on Saturday. Roy was second in Old time.
He's been psyching out Matt for Sunday.

True. Bob cleaned up. I offered to change scores with him.

Yea, Larry Kenny's plane was way kewl.

At the end of the day yesterday Ryan was messing around with a shoestring and did a power on landing. It popped a few holes in the silk span. We put some clear packing tape on it and I let a few inches hang off the TE. When the plane was flying it made a buzzing nose. Sounded a little like putting a card in the spokes of your bike. I showed it to Kenny, I think he might steal our idea. LL~
