I hope it is okay to post these pictures of Igor Burger from Claus Maikis's website,(it is hard to get a hold of him). For those of you who don't know, or have ever seen the 2008 F2B Vice Champion and his work, here is the former International Man of Mystery who is now, the current International Man of Action!!

Thank you Milton for the nice post on Igor. His 2nd place at the World Championship is a great accomplishment.

His use of the AXI 2826-10 electric motor that many of use in our ECL planes was an historic event in itself for ECL planes in World compition. He proved that E power is a viable power system for our CL models, and that you don't need the biggest and most expensive system to win.

My guess is that we will see many more ECL planes in compition next year. The combination of power and reliability is hard to beat.

There is a very nice write up, about Igor's good sportsmanship, here in the electric section of Roberts excellent forum. Igor has been a very helpful contributor to this electric forum, and his information has benefited all of us ECL flyers.

Regards,  H^^

Great photos, thanks kindly for posting them.

Rather clever how Igor slipped that electric motor right in where the LA 46 had been!

Hi Rudy:

I'm pretty sure Igor used an AXI 2826-12 motor, no the 2826-10. The KV rating of the 2826-12 is apparently more adaptable/favorable to the A-123 batteries he is using.

You are correct Bob. 6S A123 = 19.8 volts which requires the lower Kv of the 2826/12.

Hi Bob,

I agree, the -12 sounds like a better match to the 123 batteries.

I was just using info from the only post I saw on his setup. They stated an AXI 2826-10 with 7S 123 batteries. My guess is that we will find out more soon when Igor gets rested up after his big trip and awesome performance!

I know you are working with him to get a full report on his setup for the PAMPA NL. We all look forward to seeing it. :-)

Regards,  H^^

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the confirmation on the -12.

I did not think the A123 batteries could overcome their weight handicap, but Igor has been working with them for awhile and he has obviously made them work well for him!!!! ;-)

Their advantages are very attractive. I use them in my Q-500 racers. The 2S are great for our use. Plenty of Rec power, and faster servos, etc.

I get them from my friends at "SinCityJets" in LV.
