Try as I might I have more than enough trouble getting one combat engine to sing the tune.. Two motors would certainly see me with fewer fingers....

Maybe Dale Gleason aka Ole Dad will come on here and tell of the one he built and tried to fly at VSC one year.  I have a kit but it's hid in the shop so I can't build it.

The TT always looked like a fun, but not for a match.  It would be as bad as flying F2D with two motors in every match.

Anyway, just copy it as best you can from the parts.  If it balances where the plans seem to show, fairly close to the leading edge, that seems like a good place to start.

Two LA 15's or similar, and an electric starter would make it pretty workable.  You might be able to feed two motors off of one bladder.  That should do pretty well at stopping both at nearly the same time.  But if I was ambitious I'd use two metal tanks.  That would be easier to figure out for the first one and easier to handle.

Good plan IMO...grin

Tha, and the current cost of two very good combat engines is well...crap obvious...two times $$$$

Tried to fly? Tried? Twin BBTB OS25s, Twin Alfred E. Neuman pilots, twin stitches, the works! Flies like a dream. A real bad dream.   Very bad dream.  Nightmare.  Very stable, though.

Dale ,
I gave my kit to Ken Cook and told him that 2 Fox 15 BB would probably be overkill for it. Then you have to get 2 Fox 15BB to run the same and that can at times be vexing, LA 15's are easier to get though and that's what I would use, but the thrill would be gone. It would never be good as a combat ship but if kept light it would be a neat thing to see at the vintage combat meet in Jersey.

I think Dale lost blood with engines him and his helpers were using.

I wonder if you had two older Fox 15's with no mufflers or something similar in weight, would the flight performance be acceptable?

It's real easy to see that it's terribly nose heavy. Twin Fox 25s (three back-plate bolt) were tried at first, the noses were just too "floppy" and the resulting harmonics resulted in foaming fuel so bad it never got airborne with both Foxes running. Using Bart's K's workshop and Steve H's FP- 25s got the thing flying, but, it turned really sluggishly.

Dave Ek glued two one oz. lead fishing pyramid sinkers near the trailing edge and it now balances much more better, not hardly nose heavy at all. He also stiffened the noses up with layers of epoxy and glass, so I think the engines will run steadily now. It has a fairly large wing area, and even with the 4 0zs. of lead, it weighs around 50 ozs., I think it will fly well enough to raise eyebrows....gotta' try it out one of these days...no rush.

FYI...This thing was built and flown at the VSC by  "proxy" for Sean McEntee, unable to attend the VSC due to his first deployment.

Shake Rattle and roll .  8)

If ' ONE ' puts Both Injuns at the Top , full Compresion . And One Prop FLAT & One Prop Vertical , it puts the V V V V Vibes Out of Phase , so they say .

Worked on my first Whirlwind , anyway . Even the linesd been shaking . Think its the Inside FLAT , so then your flicking UP on the inner ,
Rather than ACROSS into the running Outer . Save Breaking your finger on the 262 fuselage , too .

 S?P H^^

We Expect to hear some more from you , on that. thanks . ;D

I used a basswood stab to offset the weight of a Max III- 35 inboard & a Max III-29 outboard.  Flew good on 70' lines, pretty fast.

I don't see how the thing could fly with the extended tail as shown on Dan's model.
