Engine Teaser
« on: February 06, 2017, 08:02:53 AM »
Thought I put this out there.  My Ukranian friend got some pictures.  The initial mold work on a new 25 engine, specifically for combat.  They are targeting a mechanical copy of the LA 25 for simplicity and cost.  Same weight.  AAC piston and liner, with wrist pin retainers, not end caps.  Target price is around $100US.  I sure hope it works out.  The people involved are already making team race motors.  Sure hope it works out.

Would be nice to have another speed limit engine option.

Might be a good super slow rat engine, too. The description is a lot like the Brodak 25.

Rich.
A super speed limit set up is an F2D ship with the lines a bit further back and about any F2D engine. |They will easily go 80 so if you are in the 75 mph speed zone then all is well. APC 7 x 3 and 10%.....60 ft lines high performance.

Yeah, I know the FAI equipment is popular, but I prefer how my designs fly.   There is a lot to be said for a little more weight from a .25 over the .15's as well.  It is good to see how popular FAI is now, and I understand using leftover equipment, but I do not fly FAI.  In fact, I am buying a new FAI engine, just so I can get into .15 Fast.  I am currently running .25 Magnums and OS FP's

A control line-ready 25, of equal quality to the FP & LA would be welcome for a lot more uses than SL combat.
There are many ways to go 75 or 80 MPH without a special engine.

That is the beauty of just setting a speed limit.  Lot's of engines will do. But it is always nice to hear of a new engine, as more and more glow engines are disappearing.
