Knight got ribz!

Looking good Ty  CLP**

Were you able to figure out how to stuff a ball link in that skinny fin?  My Swinger has enough room in it for the link, the stand-off, a 2" bolt and 6 lock nuts!  ;D (but the horn justs sticks out through the bottom... :P)

Well, I'm stuck with just the one. But I do have plans for a new classic plane when it's done.

Looking GOOOOOOD! I finally got a good look at a set of plans for the Knight - it looks like it should be a real good flyer too.

How's it doing for weight?

Ty,

Yea, I know what you mean. I shoot clear today at 65 degrees (in the shop) and 84% humidity. I did get a lot of blush, but once the clear was on, shot the whole thing with a coat of, well, thinner (about 2% dope and 98% thinner) and it laid right out and the blush went away. You can get around it but it's a real pain.

Ty:
With the FP40 that ought to be a solid power-up versus Jack's original with an Enya 35 - and remember Jack nevr claimed to be a light builder.  Put it on 63' lines and let it breathe a little!

Side note to Doc:  Looks like Ty has enough time to build another 1-2 birds by Tuscon, maybe more if he goes the moneycote route!

Another side note to Doc - weren't you building a Sheeks bird too????

Ty,

I guess we're both dinosaurs. Last plane I did in Monokote was about 12 years ago. I was out of a plane and needed something fast.

It's it always the way; the plane you slave over and get finish perfect is the one that meets an early demise. The quicky Monokoted plane will never seem to die. That last plane with Monokote was around 2 seasons before I gave it away.

TY,
It is looking better and better. I hope you can get it done in time.

I am in the nit picking stage on my "Sea Vixen". It is progressing too slow, and I have to work a lot of overtime elsewhere, and that is not helping. I have the colors mixed , and I hope Ii can get it covered this week.

Dennis,
Clear canopy for sure. Looks like canopy and details are in. I hope we can also influence the current stunt event. Did you know that at the past NATS of the top 10 airplanes, only 2 had cockpits, the rest were painted.

The Mountain Mafia will be proud of us all! Sorry that you lost your kneecaps before you woke up!

If your stuck for colour schemes , check out the " RIVETS " Goodyear racer,

as young Jack based it on that .Id go for a blue or green tinted Canopy ,

and light  colours ( light metalic blue ? ) As for IF it flys good ? in Mr Sheek's

artical youll see he built a second, the one with fuselage mounted gear,he

said due to alignment problems with the wing mounted gear, and thought it flew great.

                                                                                                                     Matt.

As you know, Ty, light models come from good wood, good fits so very little glue is needed and being a great friend with sandpaper.  Plus knowing how to aplly no more paint than is necessary to cover it.

65!!! Yikes. I haven't been able to paint in that sort of heat wave in years. I'm usually shooting paint whenever it manages to get over 55F. I shot clear on the Cobra at about 40F. I really need to learn to build in the winter and shoot paint in the summer.

Once a King, always a king. But 'once a knight' is enough!

Really inspiring, Ty. (love the instruments) Cheek cowl is superb. BUT:
From you...we expect such valor.

Well, at least you didn't paint it on his lower lip. Thought then it could have been a soul patch, I guess. ;D
