Oriental
« on: March 08, 2015, 05:07:38 AM »
Here are some photos of my Oriental.
Not flown yet.  I am running an OS LA 25 S with 9-6 prop.
I will let you know how it works.  I know the OS has more power than a stock Fox 35.
It comes in at 38.5 ounces.
If the OS is not enough power, I have some other engines.

Wing and tail surfaces are covered in Ultrakote

Fuselage is covered in silkspan and dope.

     Hi Dave:

That is a great looking plane.  You have to bring it to Hamden to show it off to the HAMS!

                                                           Stay well,

38 ounces is a great weight. Offhand I think you'll need more power. Orientals have big wings. My most recent one started as an ARF, was stripped and rebuilt. Powered by a Tower 40. It needs that power, no question about it.  It's significantly heavier. 46 ounces.
