Nostalgia Profile :: Skyraider
« on: May 01, 2016, 07:51:58 AM »
Just finished my Skyraider for nostalgia profile. Got the plans from Brodak and after looking the plans over I redesigned the fuselage construction as well as having a 'D' tube wing.
Two details I wanted to duplicate with this model was 1: the cowl flaps with exhaust channels & 2 : the way the fuselage blended into the fin.

Forget carrier and enter profile SCALE.  Carrier is really tough on models and there are NO beauty points.

You can enter ANY vintage profile plane in Nostalgia carrier, even if it wasn't originally a carrier plane: Flite Streak, Ringmaster, Clown, etc.

That is a very nice airplane.  Really too nice to beat up on a carrier deck.

I really light carrier planes that look like carrier planes, but wow, this one is out of the park.

I absolutely love this aircraft and you have done a fine rendition of her.  Hope you really enjoy her and also hope to see some video of her flying! H^^

 NICE! Great job on the cowl area too, really helps add some accurate Skyraider character and detail.

Found this while looking for a scheme for this... there's a fully restored Skyraider done this way.. but it's totally glossy.. wanted mine to be as it was while in service.... Dull Gull Gray upper surfaces , gloss white undersurfaces as well as upper surfaces of flaps, ailerons, elevator & rudder. And thanks for all the feed back.
