This is in the used box at my local hobby shop. It's gummed solid. Assuming all is well will it run properly without a pipe?

I have had MVVS .15's and they run fine without a pipe. The stock carb is rather  small diameter however, for carrier you might want a different carb.

What carb are you guys using on this engine? I checked the Perry site and the carb listed (3651) has essentially the same barrel I.d. (.199) as stock. There is a medium carb listed (2030) with the same neck size, so it should mount, but a larger (.270) barrel I.d..  How big is to big?

     In 2002 Perry made a carb #2030 with a ID of .240 and OD of .433 and it worked on the MVVS .15. NOW, as far as I can figure, Perry offers carb #2030 with an ID.270 and OD of 433 which if I remember right is to large. I remember when this happened and called Conley (not related) and asked him why he isn't offering it in .240 and he informed me that .270 was bigger and would give the engine more power (daa) never mind that the .270 was to big. As far as size goes, a Perry doesn't have a spray bar that goes all the way across so has more area than a RC carb with a spray bar. I have sleeved down Perry's before using brass sheet material from K&B?

Thanks Eric,

I looked at the K&B website and found that their brass tubing has a wall thickness of .014.  If you were to split a section of 9/32 tubing so it could be inserted in the barrel that would get you down to .242, pretty darn close.
