Awesome and then make your own power plant.

To allow a new engine orientation, we had to re-design the crankcase. Now cylinder is tilted -40 degrees from horizontal but venturi still remains horizontal. Also, I went back to remote needle valve.

Well, we were anyway going to try a new material for crankcase, it was rather simple to do the changes in cnc program.
Because things get a bit more sensitive without nitro, I made a set of 10 venturies with 0,1mm (1/254") steps. From 4,1 to 5,0mm (0,16-0,196") dia. L

I met Lauri in Poland at the 2014 World Championships.  I was able to closely examine his model and engine that he competed with.  He also makes his own props.  The 3-blade prop he gave me is a work of art.  I can attest that the photos he has posted here do not do justice to the outstanding craftsmanship and attention to details of his work.  He is also a competent flier.

I need to mention that he was one of the several competitors there that stepped forward to provide help to Kenny Stevens be able to continue in the competition.  We needed fuel components for the airplane that Kaz Minoto loaned Kenny.  Lauri provided much of the fuel that we needed early on so that Kenny could practice.  One of those many side stories that most people never hear about.

I have been buffing the model parts. I bought this stuff from Brodak; Meguiars Swirl Remover.
What's the correct way to use it? The abrasive effect is allmost homeopathic and it leaves the surfaces sticky. I tried it with my buffing machine and ir sure shines nicely but only untill I wash tve parts with soap water.
Is it more like wax?

Swirl remover is actually a glaze, not really intended to remove sanding scratches or anything. It is basically intended to use as a last step to "fill" the swirl marks left by polishing compound. I use a similar product right before appearance judging. I use a microfiber hand towel/washcloth to apply a small amount and disperce it over the surface, then go back and buff it similar to how you would in fact use wax. There is not really any cutting agents in this product, its mechanism of function is to fill the micro sized marks left by the abrasive in polishing compound thus leaving a more uniform surface to produce better reflections.

Ok, it ended up like this. Ready to go -weight is 1630g, 57,5oz. If I can figure out the radio shut-off, it'll be about 15g more. But it's quite tight inside the nose. We'll see..
I ran the engine a little (started at 1st ever flick ), seems to be nice and quiet. Tomorrow I'll run the 2 engines in and maybe fly a little, if weather allows.
